Jeff Gosling this we spoke about his role as a business coach helping give more life to business owners. One topic specifically that caught our attention was how he helps business owner’s with employee engagement.
Team engagement and communication is very much something his clients get support on. He can look at a few options depending on circumstances, a quick call with the client is easiest. Discretionary effort is estimated to give an average 30% increase in productivity (not to mention retention), it’s a good idea to invest in it! The power is in the profiling tools he has invested heavily in becoming licensed to use, these give attendees massive insight into themselves and each other, improving engagement significantly.
His clients are focused on high-performance teams so there is a clear return on investment from this type of engagement. Investing in your human resource well is an easy return on investment, sadly too much training has little impact after the day. The focus of his programmes is mindset shift as well as education. The group learn a common language for engagement and be skilled to adapt to communicate with others (the platinum rule is ‘treat others how they would like to be treated’). He also organises games in the session to improve engagement with a larger group as well as exercises around core values and the business vision.
